Do you want your social media and blog posts to reach an audience of engaged real people that follow, click or save what you are sharing and be able to schedule everything months in advance giving you back your valuable time? Do you want analytical data that are easy to interpret, making it easier to implement an actionable response?
I'm going to show you exactly how to do this by using Tailwind and how to use this tool correctly so that this can happen.
Tailwind has been a huge game changer and a lifesaver that I never imagined! I've mentioned Tailwind before in a few of my posts, however, I really wanted to write a post specifically about everything they have to offer and how this could potentially boost your visual content marketing strategy into the viral zone along with enhancing your own life/work balance so that you can continue your success.
When I started blogging, I was such a newbie writing once every few weeks and then madly pinning randomly all over Pinterest boards that were sloppily thrown together with barely anything that resembled a structure. I am going to walk with you through some steps before you get to the point of being successful on Tailwind. This post contains affiliate links. If a sale is made from one of my links I receive a small commission at no additional expense to you.
10 Boards
Jump over to your Pinterest page and make sure that you have at least 10 boards set up with a minimum of 30 pins in each. 15 of those pins should be yours and 15 should be other pins that are relevant to the name of each board. You don't have to keep the ratio like that as this is just an idea to use as a starting point. If you are able to add more pins to each board right now, then by all means, do this now as you will want to manually pin as many as possible for a few days before you get going. Vertical pins do the best on Pinterest that are 800x1600px for tall pins. I usually make my blog title image tall and visually pinnable so that it's easy to share on Pinterest and also on Tailwind.Make sure each board has a stunning image on the cover and a description of what the board has in it. This goes for pins too. Go through and double check that each pin within each board has this and if it links anywhere, that the link works. I've bypassed awesome looking pins before because they had no description with an outside link that goes to nowhere land. Disappointing!
Only make boards that are going to enhance your business strategy further. If you want to make boards that are for your own interest make sure to keep them hidden by clicking on the button after you fill out the area for the description.
Group boards
Type in the search bar at the top of the Pinterest page, Business Groups or Blogging Group Board. Find a few groups to request to join and start adding your pins (the ones that you personally make and the ones that you don't make but you have saved to your boards) to those group boards as well as adding their pins to some of your boards.Join Tailwind
When you sign up for Tailwind, be sure to use my link to receive a free month. Just use your Pinterest account that you've already been working on and make sure that you authorize Tailwind to be able to Pin for you so that you can take full advantage of all the features I'm about to show you.1 tribe at a time
Don't make the same huge mistake that I did! When I first joined Tailwind, I got way ahead of myself instead of focusing more on the content that I was sharing with the tribe. Choose 1 Tribe (other than Welcome to Tribes) to start with and start going through and sharing the other members' pins to your boards and groups boards. Then go through and add your own pins making sure to adhere to the rules of each tribe. Some tribes enforce a 1:1 ratio and others 2:1 meaning for every 2 pins you share with other members you can pin 1 of your own. In the photo below, I took a screenshot and highlighted the important areas.Scheduling pins
Tailwind automatically optimizes the best times of each day to schedule pins that you choose. When you are in the tribe's area, just click on which board you want to add the pin to then click Add to Queue which will move whichever pin you chose from the tribe into a slot on your schedule. To make the most of this feature add as many time spots as possible in addition to the times that Tailwind suggests.
I suggest doing this because once you get going on Tailwind you don't want a pin that you scheduled 5 months ago to finally hit your Pinterest. It's not the worst thing in the world but if its one of your tribe members' pins they are also trying to increase their growth in a timely manner so keep this in mind as you wouldn't want someone to do that to your pins would you?
Track your Brand page
This is where you can view the performance of your profile and view the insights of all your boards including group boards.Optimize Content
This will inspect your pins for you and show which ones have been repinned the most. It also gives you a quick option to schedule a repin, add to your tribes again, or find similar content. I suggest going through this every 3 weeks at first and doing all three!Engagement and Virality Score Heatmap

In addition to this, I still manually pin but I highly recommend giving Tailwind a try if you want to see real results that you can rely on.
